Phone apps can be used for multiple reasons, from being a game to entertain for an hour, to being able to communicate with friends and family. Not all apps are available on all phones; some are only available on iPhones, however there are still hundreds of apps available. There are quite a few apps available for free, or that you can have a 30 day free trial to see whether or not you like it, however there are still a lot of apps you need to pay for
Each year the amount of apps available, are increasing, and it seems like each year there is a news favourite communication app, whether it be msn, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Snapchat and so on.
I decided to research to see what apps were most popular in 2014 – what interests the public the most.
The 10 most popular apps were:
- Google Search
- Google Play
- Google Maps
- Facebook Messenger
- iTunes Radio or iCloud
What was the same about all of these apps was the fact they were all free.
One of the most expensive phone apps is $999.99. One of the apps worth this much is called VIP Black, and once you have purchased it, you must prove your assets are over $1 million to be able to use it.
This year, on Febuary 24th, Zora Ball was the youngest person to ever create a phone app.
At the age of seven Zora used a programming language Bootstrap to help her develop the game. This type of programme is usually only taught and used by students of 12-16. When she was asked to reconfigure the app as some people were having suspicions that her older brother helped her create the app, rather than Zora Ball creating it her self, she managed to successfully reconfigure the app, putting all those beliefs to a stop.
